Hair Cuts
On Saturday Morgan and I decided it was time to trim up Dashiel's hair. He was starting to get a bit of a mullet, known at our house as child abuse. So we got out the clippers to fix the back and sides of his hair. After a few minutes it looked horrible so a little trim turned into us shaving all of Dash's hair off. He started getting hair in his mouth that he would try to wipe out with his hands, his hands were then wet and as a result would get tons of hair stuck to them, then he would try to wipe his mouth again. It became a vicious cycle and the screaming began. Dashiel was crying "itchy, itchy" and spitting, which just got him more wet and more hair stuck to his face. I was trying to hold Dashiel still so Morgan could finish up but thing were not going well. Needless to say the back of his hair is still too long and he has random long hairs sticking out all over his head, not to mention the hair still hanging over his ears. So Sunday morning I tried to clean it up a little bit to him screaming "no clippers no clippers". That lasted about 2 seconds. Cutting Dashiel's hair turned out to not be such a good experience so I have no idea what possessed me to cut Myles's hair today. I must be insane! Myles handled it well, no crying or screaming just a little squirming, but the result wasn't any better. I really can't cut hair. I don't know what made me think I could. People go to school for things like that. So my darling boys have horrible hair cuts and I am not going to be taking any pictures for a few weeks. What an experience.

There's got to be something about electric hair clippers that sends little kids into hysterics. I still remember having to brace Jonathan in my lap with all my strength while Cassia did her best to trim his mane. He would scream and kick and struggle with all his little boy might, his face turning beet red with tears streaming down his face. Good times, good times.
Not much has changed, but he responds a little better to ice cream bribes now. :) And it helps if he's distracted by one of his favorite movies (basically any Pixar film) while we do it.
We're thrilled to have found you! (Thank you, Google!) So glad to see you're all doing well.
