Super Man Super Glue

Myles was playing and fell down and smacked his lip really hard on the kitchen floor. I ran and scooped him up and quickly applied pressure to his lip. After the bleeding stopped I looked at him and noticed right under his bottom lip that the cut was quite deep. I called the pediatricians office and they said that because of his age and where the cut was if he needed stitches they might have to sedate him so it would be best to go to the ER instead of the office. I texted Morgan knowing he was in youth court and wouldn't be able to get my messages and updated him on what had happened. I called Julie and she took Dashiel and Chase for me and I drove Myles to the ER in Provo. I said a prayer in the car for Myles and me that everything would be okay and that we (mainly me) could stay calm. Myles was so great at the ER. He did everything they asked him to and was very brave. While we waited for the doctor to come I drew him pictures on the white board and he played with Superman, Batman and Buzz. The Doctor looked at him and decided that the cut was straight enough for her to glue it. I was very pleased that he wouldn't have to have stitches and everything that is involved with that. I called Morgan and told him the good news. The Doctor glued Myles's cut and then the nurse gave him some Nemo stickers and a fleece camo blanket for being so brave. They kept telling him he was Superman because of how brave and good he was being. Everyone was so cute with him. I drove Myles home and he was treated with a Happy Meal from McDonalds from Morgan.

Your goal for 2011 should be no more trips to the ER. I'm so glad everything turned out all right. He is a trooper.

I gotta say, even with that bloody lip, he looks so cute, I just want to give him tons of kisses!!! What is it about cute kids that makes me want to chew them up? What a brave little boy - and what a cutie with those blue eyes and cheeks!!!
